Hi Peter; I descend from David Flandreau's son John Edward. I continue to search for proof of David's parents. Have you found any further proof they are John and Jane Garland, or someone else? Also, your? on reinternment is correct. First buried at Glenwood Cemetery in Oct, then moved to Phila. Nat'l Cem in December-nice pix of headstone on internet. I have hard copy of his military file and Emma's pension file from Nat'l Archives-not much there, and no mention of parents. Also no record of his birth in NYC Records, nor their marriage, but pension file affadavit by Emma sworn as 04 Feb 1851 at Jane St. Methodist Episcopal Church NYC. Church is long gone. Plan to pursue both further at NYPL and Huguenot Soc. this summer when back up north. Thanks, Ed Lary
