Hi Kristen,
Sorry I haven't followed up with you sooner. Unfortunately, I really don't have much other information on Benjamin Flandro. Your information on the French decendents was new for me. Also, I don't know the source of the information about the fire at the Cleveland home. It came from two typed pages in a file that was given to me by my father in law who passed away 4 years ago. Here is the quote regarding Benjamin's parents: "Both were known to have died quite young, leaving two boys, the oldest John, was two years old and the youngest, William Flowler Flandro, being only nine months old. As William was taken by foster parents, a Mr. and Mrs. Cleveland, to Quincy, IL before he was one year old, and as all records of his parentage were later burned in a fire at the Cleveland home, very little is know of his family other than the above."
So, there's no mention of what was the cause of death for Benjamin and his wife.
The other information I do have covers the ancestry of Henrietta Ruth Woods Flandro, wife of Charles Earnest Flandro, if you are interested in that. But, I'm guessing you already have quite a bit of information.

Anyway, I was so curious about all of this that I tried to diagram out some relationships and it seems that your husband's grandfather were brothers. So, I guess we have just discovered a new set of cousins. Nice to meet you!

My husband, Jerry, did mention that there is a relative in Salt Lake City who has quite a bit of information on the Flandro family history, but he couldn't recall the name. However, I'm sure I could track it down if you'd like--I'm curious, too.

Take care,
Debbie Flandro
