Yes, RootsWeb is down today for scheduled maintenance, but it's not supposed to last all that long. The answer to your question is, yes, Staats Barton Flandreau, in his myriad guises, and a fair number of his descendants are listed in the database.

Sherry Clark, another Staats descendant provided with most of the information I have on him, though some of what I have is drawn from Civil War records and census entries.

It seems perfectly reasonable to me that anyone named Flatbush is a Staats descendant as I am told he simply took the name of the town as an alias, and Flatbush was not a surname to begin with.

That said, I should probably start search for Flatbushes and add them to the database as well. I'm not sure that adding them in will help to to clear up earlier mysteries, but you never can tell what clue someone might have...
