I am interested in finding more out about my father's (James Flandreau) geneology. My grandfather (William Flandreau - born 1911) moved up to Red Hook NY from Yonkers NY in the '40s. We were always told that my grand father was the only boy and without him the family name would have been lost. Red Hook is now full of Flandreaus. I have misplaced some information I did have on my great-grandfather but I am trying to learn more. Based on some information from La Rochelle France and basic history about New Rochelle NY it is likely that we were descendents of the Hugenauts that landed in NY in the late 1600's. I would like to learn more about that as well as the connection to Flandreau SD.

by the way, I hit the hyperlink to get to the flandreau database on Roots but I didn't see it. I am new at this, am I doing something incorrectly?

Congratulations on your success at compiling what must be a very exstensive database.
