John Frank Fleckenstein

I have some family records on a family that descended from one John Frank Fleckenstein, originally (alleged) to be from the Dubuque area of Iowa. He was born in 1840 and I do not know the names of his father or mother.

The family supposedly came over from somewhere near Hamburg, Germany and settled in Iowa. According to what I have been told this John fellow had an argument with his father, left home and came to California with a wagon train departing from St. Joseph, MO. when he arrived in California, he raised a family, had a dairy farm near present day Truckee then moved to Folsom and is buried in the pioneer cemetery in the town of Folsom, as are all his descendents. I know of no present day survivors of this family in Folsom. I have wondered about this family in Iowa and have a few pictures of this family as well as many stories.
