My paternal grandmother was Gertrude Dorothy Lonsdale Flecknell, who was born in 1887 in England. Her father (my great-grandfather)was John Lonsdale Flecknell, builder. The only formal document I have is Grandma's marriage to Henry Douglas Marshall, on 12 Dec 1912, at Harpenden, Herts. She was a musical prodigy, singer and pianist. They emigrated to Perth, Western Australia and lived in Narrogin where she taught piano. I am interested in any information about her father, who left his wife with two small girls to bring up, which she did most successfully.
