The Tarlton Flemlngs-in the Rev. War & War of 1812?.
Our family descends from Col. Tarl(e)ton Fleming c1722-1778 and his son Col. Tarlton Fleming 1763-1812. A source says the the first Tarl(e)ton died in the Revolution at the Battle of Peterburg, Va. whereas he is also seen as dying at the Fleming home at Rock Castle. And there are sources who give his son Tarlton as dying in the War of 1812. I've had difficulty proven their deaths. Also, I have copies of Company Muster Rolls for a'Tarlton Fleming...Pvt. in Capt. William Bolling's Troop of Cavalry, 38th Reg. Virginia Militia War of 1812'...from Goochland...This couldn't be the Tarlton 'killed in 1812'...and a listed as Private, not Colonel? Can anyone clarify any of this? For more info about this line-go to the website: pixleyblair.tribalpages.com and to Ancestry.com under the pedigree tree name: Pixleyblair.tribalpages.com
Thanks
