from "the Descendants of Robert Fletcher" of Concord, Mass." by Ed H Fletcher: Robert (5) b 14 July 1744; mar 28 Mar 1771, Sarah Foster; settled in Wilton, NH in the part afterwards set off to form the town of Temple; served in the French War and the Revolution; rem to Hallowell, ME, and d in Bloomfield [Skowhegan] Me 25 Feb 1838. He was one of the original proprietors of the town of Westminster, VT; app'ted a lieutenant in the Rhode Island expedition; he resigned and Gershom Doury was appointed in his place. In July 1781 it was "ordered that the treasure pay the account of Robert Fletch, amounting to 6l,19s,6d new currency, for an express to Exeter in theyear 1779.
Son Robert b in Temple NH 31 Aug 1786; m 1805 Nancy Sprague; settled in Sidney, Me; rem to China, ME where their ch were born; merchant; held various town offices; rep in leg several yrs. colonel in militia; called out in 1812 to repel an expected invasion.
