Got an hour?I can fill you in on who I think you are asking about.See if this stuff fits?Bear with me, it is long and full of dates, but leads to people I think you are speaking of.
Josiah Fletcher b. 5/13/1815 m. Emelia Goddard 1840.children born in Illinois.Alfred b 1840, Mary b. 4/28/1842, Galarind b. 3/21/1844, Oran b. 10/17/1847, Martha Ann b. 3/3/1849, Laura b. 7/6/1851.Josiah and Emelia died while crossing at LaCross, IL on the Mississippi River.The children survived and were raised by older brother Alfred who served in the Civil War (Union - Illinois)

Nancy d. 1/2/1906.Alfred married Sara Lynn 9/3/1906.Alfred died 2/7/1924.Both Alfred and nancy are buried at Rogers Cemetary at Rogers Ark.

Carl Beson (sp?) lives in Little Rock, Thelma b. 9/26/1912, Andrew Jackson b. 3/26/1914 (Uncle Jack), Veda b.

Fletcher's property.The railroad construction engineer grew to be great friends.This man, Andrew Jacson Hamilton asked GGgrandpa that if the baby was a boy would he name him after him?Well it was a boy and GGgrandpa did.We know this because my wife's father, James Lewis Sigmon, was working in the Texas oil fields and met Mr. Andrew Jackson Hamilton.He asked Dad if he knew of a Robert J. Fletcher from Ark.Dad said he was his wife's Grandfather.Mr. Hamilton told Dad the above story.
