J.R.FletcherJOHN RUSSELL FLETCHER was born abt 1831 possibly in Mississippi Territory (Alabama)and married Harriet E. Savage. He can be found on the Johnson County,Texas Federal Census of 1870 living in the home of Harriets father, Thomas Dudley (T.D.) Savage as a 31 yr old farmer.... his son Lorenzo T. Fletcher was 1 yr old at the time.
In the book written by Samuel Moore Fletcher's son, ERnest More FLetcher, "The Wayward Horseman", a cousin JIM FLETCHER had been found, but sold their land in Johnson County and moved to Taylor County.John Russel Fletcher had a brother living with him in the 1880 Federal Census of Taylor County who was initialed "J.W.FLETCHER" (Jim)age 23
Lorenzo T. Fletcher con't to live in Taylor County Texas until his death on June 17, 1939 and living there in the Federal Census of 1930 was also James R. Fletcher age 39.There is in Taylor County Texas cemetery a "John Russle Fletcher Jr." listed.
Don't know if this helps or hendersNadine
