I can't remember if I've already talked with you about this idea before, so please bear with me if I have, but it seems like you are on the same track as I am which is rather encouraging.I've also been suspecting a Fletcher/Brewer connection.Initially it was because of Jacob Fletcher Brewer's middle name.I thought maybe his mother's maiden name might have been Fletcher. Then I got to digging into southern naming customs of that era, and it was common to name one's second daughter after her father's mother.Jacob's second daughter is named Lucinda.Nathan R Brewer, who I suspect to be Jacob's full brother, also has a daughter named Lucinda.I suspect, therefore, that he and Jacob Fletcher Brewer's mother might have been Lucinda Fletcher. My hunch is also that their father was Isaac Brewer, who was born in what is now Wilkes County, Georgia 15 May 1763 and died 25 May 1852 near Silver Run, Talladega County, Alabama.I think there were Fletchers living near the Brewers at one point, but I can't remember when.It might have been when the old generations were still in Virginia, but possibly later in North Carolina or Georgia as well.Isaac's first marriage was when he was 30 years old (ca. 1793), but I'd have to check back through my notes to see if there were Fletchers in Hancock County, Georgia at that time. I hope there was! Please let me know what your thoughts are, and also if you've found out any new info on this topic since your message was posted here.
