Diane, my wife is related to you ... her great great parents are Ulrich and Anna (Kaeser or Kaser) FLUCKIGER from Durrenroth, Kanton Bern, Switzerland.
If you go to, you will find much information on the Fluckiger family.
Regarding the original question of this message: there are several Andreas Fluckiger's, but I do not know if they are the same ones as he was looking for, out of Thoringen.
My wife is a Fluckiger, related through John Fluckiger (son of Ulrich and Anna), who had a son, Lyman Wilford Fluckiger, who is her grandfather.
Interestingly, Diane, the Ulrich Fluckiger family listed in the Ancestoral file does not list Albert as one of the 11 children. What was his full name? You and my wife are probably cousins...
We have pictures of the family; several brothers joined the LDS Church and came to the USA; most settled in Star Valley (Bedford, Afton, Thayne area) Wyoming. The Ulrich Fluckiger family farm is still (as of about 4 years ago) in the family in Durrenroth, a suburb of Bern, Switzerland. It was owned by Max Fluckiger. We used to meet up with him in Phoenix every once in a while, but I have not heard from him in a long time.
If anyone knows of a Fluckiger family web site, or would like to start one, or would like to contribute pictures so I can start one (I only have copies of copies of copies!) please let me know. try if the other e-mail address doesn't work, or if neither of them work. The Fluckigers also used to have HUGE family reunions in Bedford, Wyoming ... but we are out of the loop, so if anyone knows about them, please e-mail us!
Gruezi mit einan'!!!
PS: Be VERY careful doing family history in Switzerland on the Fluckiger family. It is a VERY COMMON name there!! (Like "Smith"). Also, the technical name is FLUECKIGER (It has an .. over the U, an "umlaut") SO if you're doing searches, try both FLUCKIGER and FLUECKIGER
