Benjamin Flint - CT > VT? > NY > OH? > IL? > KS
Looking for information about Benjamin Flint - listed in1870 Census Kansas, Anderson Co, as age 85 B. CT & PrudenceFlint, age 76 b CT - both living with son Lyman B. Flint. He is thought to be the Benjamin Flint listed in Genesse Co, NY in 1830, but have not located him in 1820, 1840, 1850, or 1860.
(Son Lyman was b. in NY abt 1816, in Ohio in 1840, IL in 1850 & 1860) Benjamin evidently died in KS during the 1870's because only Prudence is found with Lyman in the 1880 census., age 85, b CT.
The only Benjamin listed in the CT Barbour Index as b CT was b. in 1791 (not 1785) in Hampton, Windham Co, CT and removed with his father (also a Benjamin) to Newfane, VT about 1795. His father remained in Newfane and died there in the 1820's, but there is no further information on the son Benjamin. (One source says he became a steamboat gambler!) We know his ancestry back to Thomas Flint of Salem but not what became of him.Maybe he is the Benjamin of Genesse Co NY in 1830???
