Elizabeth Flint Thayer's obit of 23 Jan 1930 in the Lowville Journal and Republican at says she died at the home of Adelbert Helmer and that he was a relative.

Does anyone who how they were related?

Her obit:
Mrs. Elizabeth Thayer

Born at Chases Lake, April 2, 1852; Died at Sulphur Springs, January 17, 1930

Mrs. Elizabeth Thayer, 77, died Friday night at the home of Adelbert Helmer, a relative, at Sulphur Springs following a short illness. She was born at Chases lake, Lewis county, April 2, 1852, daughter of Frank and Mary Ward Thayer. [sic; probably her husband's parents].

She lived most of her life in Black River and vicinity. She is survieved by her husband, Jeffrey Thayer, Civil war veteran, who is blind. He has been residing with their son, Edward Thayer, while Mrs. Thayer was at the Helmer home at Sulphur Springs. Mrs. Wallace Peeler, Indian River, a daughter, was at the Helmer home caring for the mother during her illness.

Mrs. Thayer is survived by her husband, a son, Edward Thayer of Black River; a daughter, Mrs. Wallace Peeler, Indian River, and several grandchildren.

The funeral was held from the home of her son, Edward Thayer, Black River, Tuesday at 2 p. m., Rev. Joseph Parkin, pastor of the M. E. church officiating. Interment will be made in Black River cemetery.

FYI, her husband, Jefferey Thayer, died a week after her. His obit, same paper, 30 Jan 1930:

Mr. Jeffrey Thayer, Civil war veteran, passed away at the home of his son in Black River Saturday night, just one week after the decease of his wife, Elizabeth Flint Thayer. They were formerly residents of Chases Lake.
