Do you have documentation showing John Flippen to be Ralph's father? All the information I have indicates Thomas is Ralph's father. I, too, believe Martha to be a Scott. One of their son's was named Robert Scott. Ralph was a witness on a Scott Will. In that Will one the son's was given to Ralph to teach a trade (can't remember the exact terminology for that). That led me to believe he was Martha's brother.

I'm searching for a primary source showing Francis Flippen as the son of Robert Scott Flippen (Ralph's son) and Mary Rice Flippen. Do you have anything on that?
