My Grandfather was Jack Ellis Rogers, son of James Madison Rogers & Orpha Ann Flora, the Daut. of Wm.. She was b.08 July 1856, d.Sept 1919. William Flora's Red Bank Cemetery Marker reads b.06 Dec 1833, d.23 Mar 1896. That is all that I have on Wm. except notations in my Grandmother Rogers' Bible.
I have 1850,1860,1870, Census on Jacob. !!??Why was two members of the {Sharp?,Short?} family living with him on 1860 Census Ham.Co. Pg.H214.
Grandfather Rogers answered when asked by Kin was he German
he said no but he was Black Dutch.
