I just came across some information about my Great Grandmother, Mary Elizabeth Hancock, who married George Edward Baker. Both are buried at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Logansport, Indiana. Mary's parents were Harve Hancock as noted on her death certificate. Her Mother was Sarah Elizabeth Flora. The information I found was that something happened to Harve and Sarah married James F. Williams as noted on the 1880 Carroll County census. Mary E. Hancock was his step-daughter. They had a son, William H. Williams that was 3 years old. Looking further I found on the 1880 Carroll County census Elizabeth Flora (54)who was HOH (marriage status reads NA??) and shows she was born in Kentucky and all of her children were born in Kentucky. The census doesn't list here maiden name but does list her Father was born in NY and Mother in KY. I believe this is Sarah's Mother but I don't know what happened to her Father. The children listed under Elizabeth are Juan (35), Samuel (23), Joseph (21), Mary Ann (19), and McClellan (17). Possibly, Elizabeth's husband died in the Civil War since last child was born in 1863?? All children including Sarah list Mother and Father where born in Kentucky. I thought thet might be related to the Nicholas County, KY Flora family.
