Does anyone have Florida ancestors from Ireland?

I'm doing research for a friend on her Florida ancestors, and I'm a bit confused as to a Patrick Florida having been born in Ireland. I'm not sure if this is in error, but I know that Florida is a Spanish name meaning "feast of flowers." His father on Ancestry is listed as a Floriday, and i just wasn't sure f this was a typo, or if they changed their name. Here is the lineage.

Patrick FLORIDAY (1747 Ireland - )

Patrick Bethel FLORIDA (1767 Ireland - 1854)

James Patrick FLORIDA (1813 Tennessee - 1870)

Thomas Byrd FLORIDA (1835 Tennessee - 1905)

Susan Hannah FLORIDA (1869 Tennessee - )

Oma Ruth COATS (1896 Missouri - 1983)

Ruth Aileen FREDERICK (1922 Missouri - )

James Allen MAYFIELD (1946 Missouri - )

Autumn Lily MAYFIELD
