Samuel Flowers ~1800 from MD to OH to IL
My great-grandmother, Sarah (Flowers) Durbin, 1843-1892, spent her entire life in Fayette Co., Illinois.
From 1850 census data, I discovered that Sarah's parents were Samuel Flowers (b. ~ 1796; his place of birth is not readable) and Margaret…, b. ~1807 in Maryland.
At that time, the household in Illinois included Samuel, Margaret and:
Thomas b. 1835 in OH
Mariab. 1838 in OH
Sarah b. 1843 in IL
It appears that this family may have migrated from Maryland to Ohio to Illinois.
Based on other sources of information, Sarah's older brother is most probably George Flowers, born ~1827 in OH.There may have been other children in Samuel's family, and Margaret may or may not have been his only wife.George Flowers married Rebecca Ann Buzzard in 1849 in Fayette County, IL, and he served in the Civil War.Thomas Flowers married Samantha Beckinstow, and Maria Flowers married Benjamin Brazle.
I am searching for more information on Sarah's ancestors.
