A bit more on David and Hannah (Flowers) Spurlock.
David was a bit of a rolling stone like so many of his generation. He was in Cabell County, Va in 1810 and moved over to Lawrence County, Ohio. By 1830, he was in Vermillion County, Indiana with brother George.
I believe David died in Indiana ca 1831-1835. Some of his many children (about 15-18) went on to Knox County, Ill. ca 1835 , still with George Spurlock and children. In Knox we find Hannah witnessing a Spurlock deed ca late 1830s. I think this is likely the widow of David. She likely died soon after or just before 1840.
Several of her sons died quite young in the 1840s and at least two grandsons died in the Civil War, one at the notorious Andersonville prison.
We who research Spurlocks have accounted for about ten children born 1800 or later. However, since David and Hannah married in 1786, there had to be quite a few children born 1787-1800 that are not accounted for. Can anyone help ??
