I have been to the Somerset Heritage Centre and checked the microfiche for Chewton Mendip Parish. There is an entry for Lamorocke, son of Henry Flower baptised 14 Feb 1658.
It is much more likely that the son of a farmer, fell out with his father and walked the fifteen or so miles to Bristol and signed on a ship for the New World. It is not so likely that the son of a landed and titled Gentleman in Rutland left a life of relative luxury and travelled two hundred miles to Bristol.
There are no Lamorock/Landerick/Lamerocks in the Whitwell, Rutland Flowers. There are lots in the Somerset Flowers at Chewton Mendip.
A date of about 1678 would tie in with the America Lamerock Flower
