William Floyd, of DeKalb Co., (Alexandria) TN, was brother of my g-g-grandfather, James Monroe Floyd. This William Floyd had a son, William T., who was 13 on 1850 census, making him born ca 1837.William T. Floyd's mother was Martha, and siblings (on 1850 census) were Joshua, 21; Safrona C., 15; Robert D., 11; and Elizabeth, 8.Also in household were Ann Coffee, 70; Frances Coffee, 13; and William Coffee, 3.Possible that William T. Floyd's mother was a Coffee also.William Floyd (father of William T.) was son of David Floyd and Barbara Vantrease.Other known children of David and Barbara are Sarah m. Chapman; Valentine m. Eliza; Barbara, Jr, never married but had daughter, Amanda; James Monroe (my line) m. Nancy Jane Odum; and Julia m. Benjamin Pritchett.William T.'s middle name might very well be "Turner," since I know of at least two other male descendants of David Floyd who were named Turner--perhaps a family name--if so, I haven't yet discovered it.There will be a reunion of the DeKalb/Smith/Wilson Cos. TN Floyd and Odum descendants in October, 1999. If you are descendant of William T., son of William, you should plan to attent.Contact me for information.Ken Floyd
