Hi Mary,
As a teen I had a my knee dislocate several times. The first time was in gym class in the late 50s and continued on until my early 20s.I never had to have it operated on as it would go back into place, but would cause a lot of pain. The doctors wanted to operate but my Mother would not let them as there was a possibility that I may have trouble walking. As far as I know I am the only one in my generation that had this problem, but I have not asked any questions about this either. So there could be others that I do not know about. My grandfather was Marion Edward Floyd from Richmond, Virginia and he was the so Victor Levin Floyd of Northhampton, Virginia. It will be interesting to see if there are any other Floyds with this problem.Every now and then I will have problems with my knee (right one) since I have reached the ripe age of 56.
