Gronow Floyd and Batson Morgan
Greetings:
In the Deeds of Marion County are found the following two entries:
"Gronow Floyd & Elizabeth Floyd, for love & affection towards our beloved nieces & relatives Mahaley Morgan, Thursy Morgan, Elizabeth Morgan, minors and children of Batson Morgan of Amite County a certain Negro Girl slave Molly, dated March 27, 1821.(Witnesses: Sarah Phillips and Hannah Collins."
"Gronow Floyd and Elizabeth Floyd to niece Elizabeth Morgan, daughter of Batson Morgan of Amite County 3 cows & calves.Dated Narch 27, 1831.Witness: James Phillips, Hanna Collins."
(Note:Note the same Month and day.Perhaps a birthday?)
Either Gronow's (only) sister, Rosamond, married Batson (her second marrieage), or a sister of Gronow's wife, Elizabeth, did.
Q:Does anyone have any idea/a as to who the mother of these three girls was?
Thank you.
Neil Lamont
