Hi Helen,
I've spent years researching and organizing Floyd data. This is what I have on file about Jonathan Floyd, which largely fits what you have: He was the son of Thomas Floyd and Johanna Whear ( they were married at Gwinear, Cornwall, England on March 6, 1802). Jonathan was christened July 26, 1807 in Gwinear, Cornwall. He married Rosevear at Luxulyan, Cornwall on July 23, 1833. Ann died and was buried at Luxulyan on June 28, 1834. Jonathan and Ann Waters were married at Tywardreath, Cornwall, England on June 1, 1835. Children:
December 25, 1836 Jacobdiah christened at St Blazey, Cornwall, England
December 30, 1838 Thomas christened at St Blazey, Cornwall, England
Son Samson was born, I believe in Wales in about 1846 (about the time that Jonathan first came to the U.S.) Son David was born in Illinois about 1850 and his sister Mary was born about 1852 and later married a William Green. They had at least 3 daughters. Jonathan had 3 sisters that survived past infancy: Mary, Eleanor & Elizabeth. Eleanor survived to adulthood and married a Josiah Hitchens in Cornwall. Jonathan also had 3 brothers that survived infancy: Thomas,Henry, and Wm. Wearn Floyd. Of those, I can only say that Thomas grew to adulthood and married Elizabeth Pearce September 22, 1831 and had two children, Thomas and Elizabeth.
I hope that this helps.
Elizabeth
