Dear Sally,
Thankyou very much for your prompt reply. We are particularly interested in where the Flukers came from BEFORE Scotland (if anywhere). We're trying to find out if they originated in Scotland or came from elsewhere.
We are the ONLY flukers in New Zealand and our family originates from George Fluker who was born in 1888 in Leith Scotland. He married Elizabeth Hume and had 2 sons. One was David Fluker who was my father in-law.
George and Elizabeth emmigrated to New Zealand in 1920 when David was just 2 years old.
Any information you have would be appreciated.
We are absolutely amazed at the number of FLukers there are in America, as we thought there were just a very few of us here in New Zealand and some in Australia.
