Dear Sharon

I've not got your George Fluker in my list but I HAVE got several HUME people - all in Leith/Newhaven area. The Newhaven registration is often included in with North Leith.

Thomas Hume m: Isabel gourlay
Isabel Hume b:28.11.1702

James Hume m: Anne Rutherford (who d:1961)
James d: 3.May.1934

Thomas Hume b:1879,
m: Robina Carnie Logan (who d:1944)
Thomas d: 13 Sept 1950 aged 71
Thomas was a Trinity House Pilot.

Isobel Hume m: James Rutherford
(James b:1850)
Their daughter Jane W.H.Hume b: about 1900

I think it quite likely that these 3 Hums siblings and also sib with your Elizabeth.

James Rutherford [b:1850] was Uncle to my mother. His wife Isobel, known as 'Belle', had worked in the woollen mill in Leith before her marriage. daughter Jane married an Australian soldier in Leith on 25.9.1919 and shortly aftewards the newly-weds went out to Australia. Jane was then aged 19. I have transcribed their marriage certificate from the original at the Scottish Records Office in Edinburgh.

I hope that this is of interest & look forward to hearing from you again. Meantime I'll see if I can find George in the records next time I go to Edinburgh (not often - sorry!)

All the best
