FOGARTY -- N.S. to MA to CA 1950's?

Hello. Around 1950, I had both an uncle and a great-uncle "disappear" from New England. In fact, the thought has just occurred to me that perhaps they "left town" together.

My uncle, Silas "Dean" LEWIS (Jr.), was never seen nor heard from again. A few years ago, I found out that he had died in Phoenix, AZ, in 1996. I was able to obtain the information from his obituary, and found out that he had a wife and children while in Phoenix (probably step-children). So, I found out we had cousins we never knew about.

A few years ago I found out that my great-uncle, George "Sanford" KIDDER (Jr.), died in Riverside, CA, in 1965. I didn't follow through at that time. But, this week I did. And, last night I received the information from his "death notice." And found out that he had a wife and children out in Riverside, CA.

In 1958, when his mother died in Winchester, MA, he sent back word that he was living in Riverside, CA. But, I don't know how long he had been there.

From the death notice, he had a wife, Isabelle KIDDER, and four children (probably step-children). So, again, I have found out that we had more cousins - previously unknown to us! They were:
James FOGARTY of Nova Scotia
Mary McCARTHY of Nova Scotia
Hattie DONNELLY of Nova Scotia
Laura ROBERTS of Riverside, CA

As three of her children lived in NS in 1965, I'm wondering if Mrs. Isabelle (?) (FOGARTY) KIDDER previously lived in NS.

I checked the SSDI records on-line last night, and I found an Isabelle KIDDER dying in 1983 in Riverside County, CA. This Isabelle was born in 1892 ("Sanford" had been born in 1904.) And she had obtained her SS# in CA.

"Sanford" KIDDER grew up near Boston, MA, but, as an adult, I am told he had a brief marriage in NH, and lived there for a few years. So, there is the possibility that my uncle met Mrs. FOGARTY in MA or NH - before leaving for CA.

Does anyone know of a FOGARTY family from NS who went to CA?

I checked census records for the very early 1900's, and there were several FOGARTY families in NS, but I can't get the 1930 census.
