from the Providence (RI) Journal:
FOGARTY, STEPHEN M., 53, of Houston, TX, formerly of North Providence, died Tuesday, December 12, 2006.

Born in Columbus, GA, he was a son of Francis J. Fogarty and the late Irene (Driscoll) Fogarty.

Besides his father, he also leaves two brothers, Joseph F. Fogarty of Coventry, Timothy P. Fogarty of North Providence, two sisters, Jean M. Fogarty of Taunton, MA and Linda A. Fogarty of North Providence, and three nieces.

Stephen was a graduate of LaSalle Academy, class of 1971. He furthered his studies at Wentworth Institute of Technology. He was employed in the family business, International Chromium Plating Company for many years before venturing off to Houston, TX, where he was employed in the Industrial Technology field of the oil industry for the last 25 years.

Stephen was a huge fan of rock-n-roll music. In the late 70's, he promoted rock bands in affiliation with the Banzini Brothers Productions, producing such acts as Bruce Springsteen, Boston, George Benson, and J. Geils, to name a few. It was during these years that Stephen was given the nickname of 'Rock-n-Roll Doctor'. His friends called him 'Doc'. He was a stout Red Sox fan. He also enjoyed boating and was an avid fisherman. Upon his visits back to Rhode Island, he would always spend time at Misquamicut Beach, where he vacationed as a child.

Funeral services will be private. Memorial contributions in his name can be made to the RI Food Bank, 200 Niantic Avenue, Providence, RI 02907. For guestbook and condolences, visit www.robbinsfuneralhome.com
