My great grandparents were,
Thomas Foley born 1843 at Tinnock,
Married 05.05.1869 at Aglish in the Union of Dungarvan in the District of Whitechurch Waterford
Catherine Foley nee Whelanborn 1849 at Dromore
Children
Mary Foley born 25.12.1870 Dromore
Michael Foley born 14.09.1872 Dromore
Catherine Foley born 1877 Neath Glamorgan Wales
Ellen Foley born 1882 Neath
Margaret Foley born 1884 Neath
Annie Foley born 1890 Neath
Thomas Foley was the son of Patrick Foley and Mary Foley nee Kearney
Patrick Foley was the son of Thomas Foley born 1790 at Clashmore
And Mary Halligan of Tiknok
Foley name is one of the most popular names in Waterford, unfortunately records were destroyed in the uprising against the English.
The family were “boat people” who made a living fishing.
