John Foley 1869 Ireland

My gfather is John Foley 1869, gmother Anna Coan 1872. They each came over from Ireland separately and alone, married, lived in West Va for a while, then moved to Pgh, Pa. Children: Dennis 1896, Katherine 1898, John 1904, Richard 1906, Anna May 1908, Mary Rose 1911, and Marcella 1914. I can't seem to find the ggfathers or ggmothers. I would greatly appreciate ANY help anyone could give me regarding the family or ways to find the names of the parents of someone born in Ireland who came over by themselves.
