Foley - Ryan married 16 Jan 1850 Tralee, Co. Kerry, Ireland

My great-great-grandmother, Alice Ryan Cavanagh, (b. 1837, m. Michael Cavanagh 21 May 1859), had a sister Margaret Ryan (b. 1826, Tralee) who married Dermot Foley on 16 Jan 1850 in Tralee. Names also shown as O'Ryan and O'Foley.

I'm somewhat confused by the fact that there is a baptism record for Honora Foley on 20 Feb 1851 showing mother Margaret Ryan and father Jeremiah Foley. Not sure if it is the same person and, if so, which name is correct. Sponsors at the baptism are Michael Ryan and Ann Ryan. Margaret had a brother and sister by those names, and her father's name was Michael also. Witness at the wedding was Michael Ryan.

I am in contact with descendants of 2 other Ryan sisters: Bridget Ryan Quinn (b. 1841, m. John Quinn 31 Dec 1859) and Jane Ryan McMahon (b. 1844, m. James McMahon 31 Aug 1868). Jane remained in Ireland, but Alice and Bridget both went to Montreal Canada in the 1880s. Alice eventually settled with her children in Chicago, Illinois.

Would like to make contact with Foley / Ryan descendants.
Marsha
