St. Charles (Kane County, Illinois) Chronicle, Feb. 15, 1901, Local Notes. Thomas Foley tells us that since the death of Martin Switzer there is not a man left who was living on that road from St. Charles to Elgin when Mr. Foley moved onto his farm, where he now lives, thirty-seven years ago. Samuel Switzer, who is one of the old-timers, was then living at Palatine. Among the many farmers of that neighborhood, who have passed away, we recall the following: George Ferson, Harlow Hooker, James Ferson, James Wheeler, O.G. Fowler, N.C. Joy, Captain Kelley, John McCoy, Benj. and James Hoag, Gustavus Hall, James Winteringham, John Keating and Wyman Blackman, all in the township of St. Charles. (Posted as a courtesy, not related.)
