Ms. Johnson,
I am searching for a John H. Fooks /Foulks/who was born in 1810 in Virginia. He lived later in Stanly Co. N.C and married a Hanah. He and Hanah had my great grandfather , WIlliam Stephen Fowlkes who married Lucy Jones Blake from Fayetteville N.C.
I am having a time trying to find who John H. father was.
Interestingly, the Blake he married was a descendant of Thomas Blake (nephew of Admiral Robert Blake) head of the Queen's navy in England in the late 1700's.
The only hint I have is that a very famous Sea Captain, Anson, settled in the Albermarle, Stanly co. area. I guess my Fooks could have gotten there via Captain Anson.
This is why your quest interests me. John H. Fooks would have been born in 1810. If this is reasonable to you, please let me know. We can search together! hahahah!
Lucy Oakes
