Hi Arthur, I have noticed in the census quite often the name has an "e" at the end. I don't really know if it was temporary or if they kept it that way. I keep sifting through the census and finding more data, eventually I will have 95-97% and then I will also know who changed names etc. I have heard of a Jonas Valck who lived in New York who changed his name to Follett prior to the Civil war, I discovered the record of the name change online. It would have been pretty tough trying to trace him, especially before the war. Do you have a paper copy of your history or is it online somewhere? I am actually a Puffer, with a gr-gr-Grandmother from RI, who was a Follett. While she is practically untraceable, I have managed to piece together most of Robert and Persis Follett's lineage. Would like to check your data and add anything missing. I still have light years to go with all the data out there, but I do have a fairly close outline.
