HI Arthur, Wish it were that easy. She was Mary Ann Follett born about 1810-11 in Cumberland, Rhode Island. No record of her birth or parentage. She was in Berkshire County, Massachusetts in 1830 when she met Martin Luther Puffer (born 1802 Sudbury, Mass.) then of New York. They were married in Pownal, Vermont 1830 and moved to Bennington, Vermont. They had children: Maria L. (1832), Clarissa Mary (1834), Wales Warren (1837), Alfred Edson (1839), Charlotte Mary (1840) and Norman Martin (1847). I analyzed all the Folletts of Rhode Island and determined (so far) that she fits into the family of Luther and Mary "Molly" (Whiting, Whitney) Follett. Since Mary is such a common name, and for many other reasons, she fit there. No one else uses the name "Edson" except she did with her son in 1839, and (I guess) her brother Charles in 1840. Also when Mary Ann was married several of her "siblings" named a child "Mary Ann." Still, I have no proof. I know from a genealogy written in 1915 about the Puffers that she died in 1892, but I cannot find her grave. And for some reason no death record exists in Vermont. Its possible she re-married and removed to Troy, New York (as that is where a couple of her children lived), But the Troy New York Courthouse had a fire and they lost all records. I live in Minnesota so I don't have the freedom to do any actual searches, I do all by mail. Is she in your book?
