Joshua Folsom notebook

I am not a Folsom descendant, but I am helping someone who is. In her 1989 book, Hoffmans in America in the 18th and 19th Centuries, the late Ruth V. McKee of Minneapolis shows the family of Christian Hoffman of Woodstock, Shenandoah County, Virginia. Among his descendants was Catherine Savannah Hoffman (born 1797), who married Joshua Folsom (1785-1840). McKee shows her source as the "Notebook of Joshua Folsom." She also stated that the list of descendants came from the Burton Historical Collection of the Detroit Public Library.

I am trying to locate the whereabouts of this notebook. I have gotten in touch with the Burton Collection, the Shenandoah Valley Genealogical Society, the Shenandoah County Public Library, the Handley Regional Library in Winchester, Virginia, and one Folsom family member. Thus far, no one has heard of "Joshua Folsom Notebook" and certainly none of them knows who owns it.

The Joshua Folsom married to Catherine Hoffman was the third of his line with that name. His father, Joshua II, lived from 1750 to 1825, and his father, Joshua I, from 1719 to 1793. Thus, I'm not sure which of these Joshuas is the namesake of the notebook.

Is anyone out there familiar with the Joshua Folsom Notebook?
