Is The Fonner family name aka Foner? I am looking for the family of Christine Ann Foner (as spelled in her grandson's obituary). She was born about 1825 and married Reuben Heald(aka Hale) from Venango County, PA. They lived, in 1860, in Wampum, Lawrence county, PA. The only family I have found in that area was a Phillip Foner (b about 1789; was 61 in 1850 census, and living in Slippery Rock Township, Butler county, PA.). In 1850 the family included Mary, George (15 yrs), and Hannah. Phillip was listed as a farmer from New Jersey. As the names are close and the geography close, could this be the same family? Could your George Fonner be my Christine Foner's brother? Any information you have would be appreciated.
