Sorry I took so long to reply. I did see both of you messages.
My branch originated in Hampton Co., PA, which today falls on the Pennsylvania - New Jersey state line. Most likely it was larger in the past than it is today. I would say that there is most probably a link between them. Blair Co is where Altoona, Pa is located. My ancestor definitly moved from Hampton Co. to what is now Fulton Co.(it was orginally part of Bedford Co.) Sometime after 1850, her descendents moved north to Huntingdon Co., which borders Blair Co. to the east! I have seen reference of Fonner's in all of the above counties, including contemporaries of my Catharine Fonner Everts. I am assuming that they are relatives, perhaps even immediate family members of hers. It's not going to be easy, but the connection is there somewhere!
What is the date of your census and when was Burdridge born?
I now live in Greeley, Colorado, but I was born and raised in Morgantown, W.Va. Some of my dad's cousins (other side of the family)live Harrisburg and Gettysburg. His uncle lived in Gettysburg before he passed away 2 years ago. I also have an aunt and uncle in Point Marion, PA and a cousin in the greater Pittsburgh area.
A little history, Catharine Fonner Everts son, George, moved his family to Preston Co., W.Va., again sometime after 1850. I know they were in Preston Co. in 1857, due to the marriage of a daughter there. As far as I can tell though, the rest stayed in Pennsylvania.
