Fooses in GA 1820-30
Hi,
Is anyone working on a FOOSE line that had someone go to GA? In the 1820 and 1830 census there were 3 FOOSES in GA. Jesse,(1820 Washington Co. and 1830 Lee Co.) Moses,(1830 Washington Co.) and Samuel (1830 Lee Co.). One of these guys must be my line, re: CSA pension records for brother to my g/grandmother said that he, Moses Foose, was born in 1843 in Lee Co.,GA and had lived in Hamilton Co.,FL since 1846. This has been a very tough line for me as these guys didn't read or write and didn't leave a will that I have located.
What I do have is 2 Foose, sisters Mary Jane and Eliza (Eliza is our line), and their brother Moses Foose, mar 3 Musselwhites in Hamilton Co.,FL 1860-70. Mary Jane's Husband James R. Musselwhite and Moses Foose both were CSA Vets. and I have those records.
I have also found these guys in the census's in FL but I can't tie them to the previous generation in GA., with documation.
Is anyone else tracing Fooses in the south? Anything would be appreciated. Thank you, Lynda Wright
