I red your mesage from Italy five years later... If you are still interested in I can send you an attached file with an old map of that area and a photo of Foppiano small village in Genoa province.
Also my greatgrandparents Giovanni Foppiani and his wife Luigia Muzio were from Foppiano village. I'm looking for some important missing pieces of their american story, example: arrival date in New York, address, job etc. They also probably didn't pass through Ellis Island, so I don't know where to loook for these info about them. I know that their first son was born in 1877 in NYC. He was Luigi Foppiani, my grandfather. It seems that Giovanni got some money makinng dancing a monkey in New York sidewalks. In 1887, back to Italy, he bought a small farm in Bobbio village (Piacenza province). If you receive my mail write me back because we have the ancestors coming from the same village.
