Betty, I am replying to this post because it is your latest. I have a Williams/ Nelson connection and a Hayes /Nelson connection. Thomas Nelson b.1767,N.C. md. Martha Williams.Williams family was from Va. possibly Halifax or Augusta Co. and William Nelson md. Temperence Hays lived in Tn. early to middle 1800s. They were part of the N.C. group of Nelsons. I am looking for the parents of Hugh Nelson and Mary(Polly)Lawrence.,who lived in Tn. about 1840. According to dna testing I am related to the Thomas Nelson/ Martha Williams bunch. Don't know how. Also if you have a Taylor line, Thomas and Martha had a son Edmond who md.a Jane Taylor. I believe that son and families were in Illinois and ended in Utah or Arizona.
