In researching my Fordham line, I came across the Green household, mentioned in the census with Fordham children born in England. I never could figure out the story behindn this.

A bio on a Find A Grave memorial.

Birth: Jan. 18, 1858, England
Death: Jul. 4, 1928
St. Lawrence County
New York, USA

Canton Commercial Advertiser, July 24, 1928
Robert Fordham passes, Aged 70 years
Robert C. Fordham died at his home near Russell July 4, of anemia, age 70 years. He was born at Winfarthing, England, Jan 18, 1858, son of Charles R. and Ann Gray Fordham. One brother and four sisters were also born in England. When a small child his brother and father died. Later his mother married Wm Green and the family with other relatives and friends came to America in October 1866, settling in Canton, DeKalb, Hermon and Russell. There were six half brothers and sisters all of whom are now dead.

On Oct 4, 1888, Mr. Fordham was united in marriage with Ella Elvira Aldridge of Pierrepont, who with four children, Mrs. Lillie Crossman, Canton, Mrs. Lelia Coumbe, Fulton; Chas V. Fordham, and Mayfred Stockwell of South Russell survive. Also two sisters, Mrs. Mary Richardson of Canton and Mrs. Maria Taylor of Hermon, two grandchildren and many other relatives. He was tenderly cared for during his brief illness by his wife and children.

Mr. Fordham was a farmer by occupation. Working after his marriage for the late Wm Richardson, a brother-in-law of Pyrites and Frank Cleflen of Langdon Corners. In the fall of 1889 he purchased a farm three miles from Russell where they lived for 24 years, selling in the fall of 1913 and moving to Russell village where they lived for two years, finally purchasing the farm on which he died.

He was a member of the Russell Grange and had a wide circle of friends. Funeral services were held at the home at 2pm July 6 by Rev. Frank E. Fundell of Russell. Interment at Hermon

I hope this helps you.
