Hi Ron

Yes, Jack is usually a nickname for John so I guess that figures in the info that Rachael has given you. Regarding the Army connections, we do already have some proof of this, and further investigations are under way.
James Fordie and Edward Fordie were both in the Army, Woolwich Barracks, Brompton Barracks, Chatham and Hillsborough Barracks being significant. Does this info tie in with any of yours?
