My father passed away last year, and among his papers I recently came across some invaluable family information I have not seen before. I doubt that Dad even remembered he had this. This information was recorded in a book given to my father by his mother in 1935 when he was 5 years old. The dates and information it contains on Sarah Davis and Lewis Fore, Jr. were obtained firsthand from their daughter Margaret Matilda Fore Smith. The information shows some different dates of birth and death that what you have for Sarah Carpenter Davis, wife of Lewis Pierre Fore, Jr. Sarah's date of birth is shown as March 31, 1817 and date of death is January 1915.
Lewis Fore Jr. is shown as born March 9, 1817 in Weaverville (spelled Weverville in the records), NC, and died June 1915 in Pilot Point, TX. Sarah's parents are shown as L. Nathan Davis and Lucrease Cook (no dates given). I have Lewis Fore Sr., and wife Martha (Eller)shown as buried at Olivett, NC. Also Margaret Matilda Fore Smith's date of birth is shown as April 12, 1861, and date of death as March 9, 1953. I know Margaret's date of death is correct, since I have photos of her and me on her 90th birthday in April of 1951, when I was 8 months old, and I know she died before I was three years old, in August of 1953. Do you know where your dates came from for Sarah and Lewis? I noticed you have an estimated date of death for Margaret.
