You asked if there was additional information on Sarah Davis who married Lewis Fore. They were married on December 23, 1843 in Buncombe County, NC. According to family records from North Carolina, Lewis was born in Weverville, probably correct spelling is Weaverville. Sarah's father was L. Nathan Davis and her mother was Lucrease Cook. The spelling of Lucrease was from Margaret Fore Smith. I have nothing further back on them. L. Nathan Davis may also be "Elnathan".This information was given to my grandmother in 1930 by Margaret Matilda Fore Smith, her father's mother, in Canton, NC. Sarah was, of course, Margaret's mother, and Lucrease Cook Davis her maternal grandmother. This is the first time this information has ever been posted anywhere. I found it in my father's papers after his death in February, 2003.

I have that Lewis and Sarah were enumerated in the 1880 federal census in Leicester, Buncombe, North Carolina. Lewis Fore died in Pilot Point, Texas, and is buried at the Belew Cemetery, as is Sarah, between Aubrey and Point Pilot, TX. There are no headstones for either of them. Pilot Point, TX is located in Denton Co. north and east of the City of Denton, on US Hwy 377 near the Grayson County line. Other sources list his place of death as Norman, OK, which is incorrect.

The generally accepted birthdate for Sarah is that she was born March 31, 1820, but family records written in North Carolina say March 31, 1817. Sarah is said to have died in June of 1909 in Aubrey, Texas, but again, family records say she died in January of 1915. Sarah and Lewis's daughter, Margaret Matilda Fore, is my great-greatgrandmother. Sorry this took so long to get to you. I was reviewing some posts about the Fores and came across your question. Thanks to my dad keeping all the books papers he did, we may be able to go back further now.
