I have the Randolph connection. My ancestor (Heinrich)Henry Strickler Left Switzerland and immigrated 10-16-1727 sailing from Rotterdam on the Friendship of Bristol. He d. 5-13-1761 in Columbia, Lancaster,PA. At some time he had 200 acres in Hempfield a mile East of Columbia. He was m. to Susanna Stouffer b abt 1710. She d in Columbia 7-16-1758. I am hunting her parents etc. Their son Jacob Henry Strickler (D.A.R.) was b 1731 in Hempfield Twp, Lancaster Co.PA and he d. 4-26-1803 Dunbar Twp. Fayette Co. PA. He was m. to Catherine Forry b. 1745 D. 7-16-1825. She was his 2nd wife. They moved to Fayette Co. PA with their 11 children in August 1790. His first wife was Martha Shirk and they had 3 children if I remember right. Their dau Susan Strickler m. Jacob Forrey b 6-9-1751 (I think, the year is on a crease on a big chart) They had a dau Nancy Forrey b 5-15-1800 who m. James Fitz Randolph b.4-7-1800 in Fayette Co. He was the son of ancestors of mine, Stephen Fitz Randolph and Pamela Nutt. These are all the FitzRandolphs who mostly dropped the Fitz at the time of the Rev. War. (They are not the VA Randolphs or even related). Info on them is available back to Eudo, Count of Penthievre who d. 1-7-1079 whose son Ribald began the FitzRandolph line. Eudo goes back. George Washington is said to descend from another son, Bardolph. As you go back you branch out into many families and can get to the 1st c. A.D. Looking at the Bible info I see that Susannah??b. 8-21-1759 must be my Susan Strickler m. to Jacob Forrey and Nancy m. to James FitzRandolph is child #9. I also have Mary Brightwell FitzRandolph b. 5-27-1813 m. to Strickler Forry in 1831 and he is child #11. Mary is also a child of Stephen FitzRandolph and Pamela (Permelia) Nutt. My g-g-grandmother was their dau Elizabeth Randolph who m. Henry Saunders Phillips b 5-29-1810 in Loudoun Co. VA and moved with his family at age 5(and we can't find them) to Fayette Co. PA. and he m. Elizabeth in Redstone or Uniontown. I hope this helps.I am still hunting Catherine Forry's parents and those of Susanna Stouffer and any other interesting info on any of these people. If anyone can help me, please do! Shirley Dolen
