I've recently obtained a copy of John Forrister's indigent pension application of 1905 from the Ga State Archives. John was living in Polk County (Esom Hill) at the time. He stated on the application that he was born in Lumpkin Georgia. This is the first good lead that I've come across as to where he was born (John was born in 1840). I've looked at every census record for Lumpkin Co and the surrounding counties as well for 1850 and 1860. No Luck! As of today I don't know who his parents were or where they were from. My grandfather always said that the Forristers were of german descent and came from the Myrtle Beach area of SC. I will post any further info if I find it. I do have a home page on familytreemaker.com and try to update it regularly. If you come across anything please email me or post it. Warmest regards, Michael Davis
