I have the following information on William Fortner and list in the excerpt is the name of his children. A Pleasant Fortner is listed. Pleasant Fortner's wife was Lucreatia B. Harris. (b. 1783) This people are my husband GGG grandfather and GGGG grandfather. The connection is through the child of William Esquire Forter's (b. 1808) daughter Lucretia Fortner who married Baily Barton Morse. William Esquire Fortner's father was Pleasant Fortner. If you would like additional information please contact me.

The 1790 Census for Surry County, NC gave the following information William Faulkner; 2 male 16 and up. 6 male under 16 3 female, 5 slaves.

The following is an will abstraction of William Forkner of Surry Co.,NC.,dated Feb 7, 1807: Wife, Susanna; Sons: Micajah, William, James, Martin, Lewis, Isaac and Pleasant (b. 1773) Daughters: Violet Jackson, Amer Jackson to have the bond of Deskin Hany; Lucy, Dau Mary Harris, Exec: Son-in-law, Elijah Harris.
