Your Thomas J. Nichols, I believe, is the son on John Nichols and Elizabeth Shelton who were married in Pittsylvania Co. Va. I have their marriage certificate. Elizabeth was his second wife, and they were married in 1832. Johh was much older than Elizabeth. In 1860 they were in Sundry, Monroe Co. Tn. John is my g-g-grandfather. I have John and Elizabeth's photos. I haven't had time lately to investigate and/or study my records lately, but I would be glad to share.
